What signs, symptoms have you seen for bilateral Menieres? I have had progressively increasing tinnitus in my good ear as well as my bad ear in the last week. I'm afraid I might be seeing/hearing the first stages of bilateral Menieres. I have not been dizzy or had any other vertigo symptoms however.
About 2 1/2 years ago I had sudden hearing loss (40%) in my left ear. No vertigo or dizziness before the hearing los. Doctor couldn't tell me why I lost my hearing. Idiopathic... I then started to experience tinnitus and a little bit of dizziness. A little over a year ago I had sudden hearing loss in my right ear 40%. I got really sick and had some dizzy spells. I've only had one small vertigo spell since my right ear went. I now have tinnitus in both ears and I wear hearing aids. I take betahistine, lemon bioflavanoids and vinpocetine.
What a difference a day makes. Today my good ear is back to "normal" wish my other ear would do that...
Good to read that your good ear is back to normal! Do all you can to protect that good ear! Lots of good info on this site on how to protect it.
Not a good couple of weeks for me. Intense vertigo issues last week and this week even after starting prednisone last week. Prednisone used to knock the attacks down but not this time. I have been on SERC (3 times a day), Potassium, Papaverine (once a day), and two 75/50 Maxzides per day for over 4 years and eat a very low sodium diet, no alcohol, caffeine etc. I take either Lorazepam or Diazepam as needed but yesterday's vertigo was unaffected by 2 diazepams. I have been on JOH for 2 weeks so I am wondering if this is somehow connected? I can't work and even minor chores around the house completely exhaust me. Left ear (bad ear) has gotten much worse and right ear (good ear) is degrading rapidly. All voices sound like they are computer generated and fuzzy. Very frustrated and disappointed to say the least.
Scary, isn't it? I'm a new "oldie" on here. Wondering the same thing if I am going bi-lateral. Hope you get it toned down.
