An unusual thing has happened to me.

I had some violent attacks in August and Sept.
I had perforations repaired twice and now I have other medical issues.
I would have thought I'd be having more violent episodes since stress is my biggest trigger.
    I take 800mg. 3X a day recently having been doubled from 1200mg a day.
I've been on antivirals for almost 3 years.

For the past few days my hearing is amazing.
Today I noticed how sharp my hearing had become and was listening for things that I don't usually hear or hear well.
I heard birds singing when a tree nearby had a huge flock in it.
I had to lower TV volume instead of making it louder.
When people talk to me I'm not having to say, "what did you say.

Had anyone who has been on long term antiviral treatment had this happen to them?

    Hey Bumble Bea

I don't know if you consider 16 months a long time.

First five months on acyclovir, not good results. 11 months on valacyclovir and my hearing is pretty darn good. The last two weeks I haven't even put in ear plugs when practicing with the band.

After three months on Val things started getting better for me. The next 7 months I had fluctuating heAring. This last month my hearing is almost the same in both ears. Which is good. I still have annoying tinnitus. But I am so used to it I usually
    Ignore it.

Santa, have you continued to take the other supplements you were trying? Or has the Valcyclovir allowed you to eliminate some of the other things? I take so many pills I think I rattle when I walk!

    It's amazing, isn't it.

If this is an effect of prolonged antiviral use, well this is huge.

That's wonderful, BumbleBea. Are you doing the JOH, too?

It does make sense to me that healing is possible when those viruses aren't getting in the way. Nerves heal very slowly. If we must have MM, we are so fortunate to have it at a time when the only direction isn't worse.

    No JOH, just Lysine.
