My name is Ellen and I've been following this forum for awhile now. I finally decided to join. I find the information here invaluable. I'm on antivirals, 400 mg. of acyclovir, 3X a day. I'm into my 6th month. I'm finally starting to feel better. I've had a few Menieres attacks in the beginning but they were less severe than before and did not take as long to pass. The fatigue afterwards has lessened, too. From what I've read this is normal for some of you. My Dr says I'll probably have to stay on a Maintenance dose for the rest of my life and that's fine as long as my quality of life goes as close to normal as can be. Thank-you all for the information you post. From what I've read I've found the support that is offered here is in without equal. I look forward to posting. Welcome Ellen, glad the av's are helping you. Did you start on 2400 mg and have already decreased to 1200 mg? Also you might wanna try Valtrex which seems to work better than acyclovir, I am on acyclovir too with great success, been vertigo free for 3 years come Jan. I would have been on Valtrex but I did not feel right on it, but I am extremely medication sensitive.
