I read this on WebMD Ear Wax The No. 1 job of that yellow, gooey stuff inside your ears is to keep them healthy. Earwax stops dust, dirt, bugs, and other crud from getting into your ear canal. It also protects ears from infection. For me that's interesting because my ears make very little wax. When Doctors check my ears they usually comment how clean they are inside, meaning wax free. I once posted about this when I first joined the forums wondering if having so little ear wax has any connection with Meniere's and all my sinus infections.
Interesting: I get the same type of comments about my ears. I always thought it was a good thing but maybe not.
I know that when my allergies are bad my ear wax is brownish red in color and that wouldn't make me stop and think but that is the same for my son too.
