My affected ear gets really hot sometimes. The love is actually hot to the touch. Does anyone else experience this??
Probably increased blood flow to the ear or the jaw trying to reduce inflammation. Have you been evaluated for TMJD ?
I wouldn't be surprised if you grinding issue is related to your ear issue. There's a good Facebook group that discusses how ear symptoms can result from jaw issues, have you seen the group? Do your symptoms improve with soft foods, heat on the jaw ect?
Just wanted to second that Facebook group, which I found out about on this forum. It's fantastic with some great stories. It's called 'Menieres Vertigo Tinnitus TMJ' and thanks to info I learned, I am now seeing a neuromuscular dentist and wearing a day and night splint. I am hoping it will help but it's early days yet.
My affected ear gets hot sometimes, too. I assumed it was a virus flareup. I never thought it was jaw issues, but those certainly do exacerbate my MM symptoms. I'm glad to know about that FB group. My dentist told me about the connection between each jaw muscle and the shoulder muscle on the opposite side. Rubbing my right shoulder muscle actually helps my left ear clear. I can do it myself.
Hmm, seems like my inner ear got hot just now at the exact same time my hearing went down and tinnitus changed. Hearing and or tinnitus pitch came back to after a few seconds. A subtle sensation that I don't how to describe still persists, not sure what to make of it?
