I've started the JOH regimen and I'm just on the 3rd part, Vinopetine. I'm waiting until Wednesday when I can talk to my doctor about these supplements. Anyway, I've noticed my tennitus is much worse. I'm having that loud, fierce ringing/buzzing/hissing in my right ear almost daily now. It takes several hours to stop. Yesterday it happened twice--once in the morning when I was laying on my right side, the second time when I was doing the back and forth exercise that my chiropractor suggested I do. I've been doing this exercise for several months with no problems. I've noticed these episodes of tennitus occure with loud noise (blowdryer and water in the bathtub) and also in the early morning when I'm in bed and I move my head to one side. I also notice the noise gets louder if I move my head from side to side, especially to my left. My husband who suffers from tennitus from being on a ship in the Navy told me his tennitus does not get louder if he moves his head. Now I've also noticed my left ear is starting to get tennitus. Is this all normal for Menieres? Is this happening because of the regimen? Could this be from TMJ (I'm getting checked for TMJ tomorrow). Knock on wood I haven't had fullness in my ear for several days.

Pattid, with me and with a lot of others on this forum it gets worse before it gets better. JOH states it in his regimen. I remember when i started the antivirals i posted that i was getting worse and wonderful member Vicki told me that it meant it was working and she was so right. My tinnitus got so bad during that time....i had upped my lysine dose and just started the antivirals and was so depressed thinking nothing was going to work but it will get better. I also requested a script from my pcp for xanax and that helped so much in the interim. Make sure you are taking enough lysine. JOH always kindly and quickly responds to an e mail if you are not sure. I dont think i could have made it without his advice and all the advice from this site, wonderful helpful people here.

Thank you for responding nroper. My ear hasn't been full which is a good thing, but boy oh boy this tinnitis. It hit me again this evening. I'm thinking it has something to do with vibrations. I turned the fan on high in the car, and there goes the loud buzzing/ringing. Same with the blowdryer and the water from the faucet in the bathtub. I'm taking 3000 mg. Lysine. I'm also wondering if I have TMJ as I believe part of my problem is muscular. The ringin/buzzing gets louder when I turn my head. I'm so tired of guessing. Tomorrow is my PCM appt. I hope she'll agree to put me on an antiviral.

I also see a chiropractor once every 3 to 4 weeks. My insurance will not pay for this. I updated everyone on a thread about my doctor's appointment today. Good appointment, but no antivirals. She also recommended acupuncture.
