Have any of you ever heard of reactions to these drugs if you have had cancer, bone marrow transplant or AIDS? I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and was planning to ask about an antiviral drug, but I've also had thyroid cancer. Someone on a different site mentioned that she got sick on antiviral drugs because her immune system crossed with the drug. Does this sound right?

Not sure about cancer but I do know HIV/AIDS patients take antivirals for their lifetime.

One very rare side effect is hallucinations with manifestation, but otherwise, nothing serious that is listed on the packet.

I never read those, if I did I would get every side effect real or imagined lol

Patti antivirals are one of the most studied drugs and there are many studies that state they are safe long term. I have posted a few on here several times.

But you do need to get your liver and kidney values checked now and then to make sure they are not being affected. But that's true with many medications.
