What would you do with the money if you won the billion dollar lottery?

I'd take care of all my family, first, then do some nice things for some good people. First person that comes to mind is my best friend, who still works just to be able to have health insurance. I think I'd buy a piece of land and have three houses built on it, one for my husband and myself and one for each of our kids. My husband has always wanted to go to Alaska, so that would be high on the list.

I'd pay off the church's mortgage, donate to some charities and seek out some people who have worked hard all their lives, but still struggle to get by.

I have a drug addicted, lazy ass thief for a nephew and I wouldn't give him a dime. But, I would pay for a stint in rehab, not that he'd go.

No desire to live like the Trumps.

I've always dreamed of being able to live near a fresh water lake with a river and a few small waterfalls.
I would a huge amount of land as I'll have the main house but my children, family members, good friends will also be there. I have some extra small homes there just in case someone needs a place and a couple of guest houses for friends I love but couldn't make the move.
Of course I'd have a small private jet to bring people to and from to visit, too.
    Animals, too. Lots of animals.
My children's and their children's children and so on would all have funds set aside for higher education.
I'd make sure everyone I know would get what they need, plus some.

A Menieres Research facility definitely. BD's my guy for the business end of things.
I also like to have a design for facilities for rehabilitation for drugs addicts. Not just rehabs that don't have a high success rate but a real teach them how to be a productive part of society. Maybe a 2 year plan. Once you're in, you don't get out until you graduate. Then help them find jobs. For the people who work in the facility that are there for rehab will be paid minimum wage and most of their pay will go into a sort of savings. As they advance through the program they will have to pay for living expenses thus teaching them how to manage money and stick to a budget. So much more

I would like to purchase a huge piece of property and build homes for our Wounded Warriors and make sure they get the right medical attention and a place to live that they deserve.

So many homeless in this country. Something has to be done. So many without food, shelter, anything in this Country. My money would be spent in the USA and not to other countries.

What's important about that amount of money is to not piss it all away on materialistic things but to give others what's needed.

Oh, the first thing would be to get a great Attorney.
That's just off of the top of my head.

I don't mean to sound cold hearted about my nephew. He has been given every opportunity to clean up his act. His grandparents continue to enable him and he's back to living in their basement. They are 81 and 86 years old. He won't help them do anything and if they leave a nickel on the counter, he takes it. He has even taken their coin collection and change from a jar. I suppose he has stolen around $8,000 in cash from them over the last couple of years. They had him evicted once, when he shoved my MIL, but he's right back down their. They give him a warm place to live, feed him, clothe him, buy him cigarettes, give him a little spending money and let him drive their vehicles. He has a safe place to shoot up, sleeps all day, runs all night. If they ask him to help shovel snow or mow in the summer he goes off on a rant and threatens to kill them. I can't even count all the times the cops have been called. Yet, they feel sorry for him and feel obligated to look out for him because his parents have cut him off and he's not allowed in their home. He had a good job, but got fired for not showing up to work. I'd like to shake the crap out of all of them.

The piece of land I'm going to buy will definitely be near water.

I'd do a lot of good things with that kind of money. I don't want a lot of things for myself and I know I'd give away a lot of the money.

I hear you get a lot of mail and phone calls when you when the lottery. I'd probably have to stop the mail and go into hiding because I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to turn anyone down.

Probably blow it on hookers and booze. And whatever I had left over I would buy a double wide down by the river and become a guest and motivational speaker about how to save your money.

You're in charge of the horses. We're going to have a stud farm.
My friend who breeds huskies will have a plot, too. Huskies are going to love where we live.

I think having start some small businesses that employ Americans will be good too. Building for the future.

All solar panels, even for street lights.

    Life would be good.

BD, you won't need to pay those hookers!

In all honesty I would set up a foundation to help kids who could not afford life saving medical procedures pay for them.

Along with support a few charities close to my heart such as Covenant House, Wounded Warriors and Leukemia/Lymphoma society.

Don't you think our Wounded Warriors deserve the very best Medical and Psychological care they deserve?
Don't you think they deserve housing comforted to their needs?
Don't you think they deserve the most we can give them monetarily to provide them with the best level of the quality of living we can provide.

Wounded Warriors Project is something I support the best I can.

BD, thank you for reminding me.
(doesn't hurt that Trace Adkins supports it as well, ;) )

I would donate to our church. Buy our neighbors without them knowing it was me. Purchase an RV hire someone to fix up our old house retro new tear down the one the one behind me fix up the one next door for my parents. Take a trip across the USA while the work was being done. Purchase the building down the road for the mission house I would love to run for recovered addicts and spend the rest of my life quilting and serving God, baking bread and enjoing my family as it grows.

I would become a venture capitalist by donating money to companies in need of capital to help them grow like Athersys who developed a process to cure Ischemic Stroke within 36 hours.
