I'm wondering has anyone noticed an increase in eye floaters since getting menieres symptoms? I have. I also see stars occasionally when I blow my nose. This never happened before getting meniere's symptoms. Maybe there is a link.
I don't experience that and have had MM for most of my life. You might want to get your eyes checked just to be sure it is nothing serious. On mvertigo.org many with MAV complain about floaters and flashers, I do not know if that's a symptom of vestibular migraines, but it interesting many have floaters who have MAV and migraines. I remember as a kid my brother got migraines and he said he saw spots and flashing lights.
Yes you do get more floaters as you age, I read that as well. I'm 34 and I don't think the amount I have is normal. I had my eyes checked, doc said they are fine aside from slight astigmatism on my right eye, he didn't see any excess pressure on them, however he could be wrong. Hmm interesting again pointing to MAV. I get flashes very rarely and it's one flash usually when my neck is tight from trying to keep stable for extended periods. I tried the MAV diet for a week or two didn't seem to make any difference maybe I should give it more time or get a migraine pill from my neuro. Interesting find on webmd, regarding other causes of eye floaters: "Vitreous and retinal inflammation caused by viral infections, fungal infections, or auto-immune inflammation" The auto immune inflammation sticks out for me as that could be an autoimmune inflammation inside the ears too giving my symptoms. Hmm..
Interesting! I noticed that too! Since my vertigo attacks restarted - I have had a lot more floaters too! Yes you do get them as you age typically - but with the menieres I have noticed them more.
