Sorry I haven't been on for awhile... accountants coming to close up year and get tax returns done... so I know i haven't offered much support - you all know how it is - trying to work a FT job but balance, sleep, rest, diet, stress etc.... anything to avoid an attack... add to that - I am finally going on vacation after not having a real one in over 3 years.... and we are flying from CT to FL ... so not a huge flight but all total with a stop over and changing planes in NC it will be about 5 hours....

Just looking for people's experiences flying... any advice - any challenges? This is my first time flying since my attacks came back in earnest -- i haven't had one since New Year's Day.... We are going down for a concer/beer fest on Sunday the 20th - so I made sure that we are leaving on Friday to give myself all day Saturday to rest if needed and then leaving Tuesday to give myself all day Monday to rest if needed... we are staying on the beach so relaxing won't be an issue... I did get our seats as close to the back of the plane that was available just in case I had an episode and had to end up in the bathroom - but honestly - when I have an attack - I can't even walk or talk so that might be kind of pointless - they would have to carry me out and put me in a wheelchair .... ugh -- So trying not to stress about it - lol - but - here I am stressing about it.

Nicky don't worry about flying. I have never had an attack on a plane. Flying did not/does not affect my meniere's what so ever. Go have a great time!!

I flew one day after a very violent attack. It had no impact on my well being. Think positive!! And enjoy yourself!!

I have not experienced issues with attacks when traveling. If you don't already have it, I would talk to you dr about a "just in case" prescription for Lorazapam (3 pills) that you could place under your tongue "if" you had an attack. For me, that will shorten the attack significantly - and the shorter the attack the less likely for major vomiting. Just having the "just in case" plan, whatever it is, helps because it is one less thing to stress about.

    You will be fine.
    Enjoy your vacation!
