Hi everyone, Does anyone else get vertigo attacks in their sleep? I never did before but have in the last 5 days. It is quite scary to wake up in the pitch dark with. It is almost unbelievable it can happen when your body and mind are at rest.
Tdoak, Before my vertigo abated , I used to get wakened by vertigo. It always intrigued me, wondering why now at this time. Never did figure it out, but I agree with you , it is scary. I also agree with you bulldogs. Horrible disease. Maggie
Had that happen all the time. I would dream I was spinning and wake up spinning. It got so bad I put a dot on my ceiling to focus on.
In all the years I had vertigo attacks, it happened to me either a few minutes after I woke up in the morning or while I was asleep during the night. Being woken up from a vertigo attack is horrific.
Yes I think it is common. Why not in your sleep? It can happen any time any where. That is why people.use colorful.language to describe it.
I had an attack at night. I was dreaming that I could not walk straight and I had no idea ( in the dream) what was causing it. When I woke up my head was spinning like mad and I realised that horrible vertigo had invaded my, usually peaceful, dreaming zone. I was really cross! How rude
Yes all too often. Not long ago I woke up spinning and then started to throw-up. I sleep with a bucket beside the bed and my prescription anti-nausea meds.
would have to agree that you get attacks in your sleep, i have had some over time. As Steve says the bucket is always close to the bed just incase and the anti vomit pills
I too had vertigo attacks during the night, if they started early enough in the night it would be done by morning, I have been vertigo free for 2 1/2 months, but the bucket and meclazine pills are still beside my bed. The Meniett device has helped with the dizziness, but it does not cure Meniere's, just has helped me manage the symptoms.
Yes, that has happened to me more than once. It is horrible. Sleep should be a safe place. I am sorry that it is happening to you.
Yup. A whole new meaning to “me too”. Sometimes the night spins settle on their own. Other times- lights on, gobbling Ativan Gravol Tylenol Advil Imovane Benadryl and sniffing rubbing alcohol for all it’s worth.
