    Hi Moodymom,

I have just glad 3 steroid shots in my ear in the last 7 days. I have more info in the cranioscaral therapy thread on here. It is not enjoyable to have the shots but the whole process takes only 10 min, and then you lay on your side for 20 min. It after effect is like having water in your hear.

Tdoak what are the purpose of the shots? Is it the gent shots? Or shots for inflammation? Some have said those are just a bandaid. Thanks

The decadron shots help me immensly. I get them every 4-6 months. They hurt a bit- not gonna lie .... but the shot itself is quick ( numbing agent, shot, lay on your side for 20-30 mins) - and I can drive myself back to work -- but they do keep my attacks at bay along with a low sodium diet, a good balance between sleep/rest and work and trying to keep my stress at bay, 12.5 mg diueretic ( i have a bladder disease so opted for the lowest dose) and valium as needed. But luckily my Dr is not opposed to trying anything I want him to. So far ( knock on wood) I have only had one attack in the last year.

The shots are for inflamation. I go to a dizziness clinic in Toronto for them. They specialize in vestibular issues. I was explained they give these shots when a person is experiencing a rough batch, which I was. I had to take 5 weeks off work. They are temporary but can get you over a hump. I was told some people get them every month.

Thanks for the info tdoak. I can't seem to find that thread on cranioscaral therapy. At this point for me, if it works to give me some relief from the attacks until it can be gotten under better control with a lasting regimen, I'm game.
