Redwing1951, Yes! I have experienced it in my poor ear before MM hit me and I can occasionally hear my heartbeat in my good ear. I have no clue why it happens nor what it means .
I've never had it in my good ear. The first time I ever had it was after VNS in my left ear. It persisted for several weeks, but I no longer get it in that ear. Now that my MM is bilateral, I have episodes of it in my right ear. It comes and lasts from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. Some times it's a ping ping and other times boom boom and always very loud. I hate it.
Mine is a boom boom right now. I am assuming that like all tinnitus there is nothing we can do about it but grin and bear it. But right now I am not grinning
Isn't it awful? It's the only kind of tinnitus I've ever had that keeps me from falling asleep. Not much you can do about it, although I did find a spot behind the bottom of my earlobe, right below the mastoid bone, that I could press and as long as I kept pressure there, the pulsatile tinnitus would stop. Hope it doesn't last long for you.
