I went surfing for 3 hours today while also trying to teach my boys how to boogie board, body surf and skim board in the ocean today. Right now my boys and I are eating Popsicles before lighting the grill for burgers, corn on the cobb and fruit salad.

Tonight will be kite flying followed by large bowl of mint chocolate ice cream.

I am on an exercise endorphin high right now. So glad I got it all done :D

If I had any ice cream at home I'd have a small bowl of it but I don't and I don't feel like going to the store. I do have some yummy dinner (yummy for me) waiting. Had a great day. Feeling optimistic. Some things are in a state of transition but I feel confident they went turn out well.

Surfing sounds so good. Being in the water sounds so good right now.

You would have loved it here 2 weeks ago, Joe. Descent 4 - 6' swell. 9 consecutive days of northerly/off shore winds. Like over-sized pealing ripples in glass.

The sun is forcing its way out, I might have to wear my 8) today!! Just came in from yoga class, will go to do my volunteering commitment at Hospice House this afternoon, and then hope to get in a round of golf in late afternoon. It's going to be a beautiful weekend in NH. I am going to be very busy. Have a "Best Buddies" walk tomorrow morning, then a lacrosse tournament in the afternoon. On Sunday will attend a dance recital. Life is busy, but a good busy. Peace and Good Energy my friends!

    Nzuri Asubuhi!

Today is a terrific day. I love this time of the year. It's H O T but our block is having a pool party tonight and it's always a lot of fun!

Ran 2 miles yesterday evening (was a short run day) and then jumped in the pool. Fell asleep on the chaise and it was the best nap.

No running today. It's H.I.I.T. so a mix of body weight and quick cardio workouts. Short but intense.

Get your workout gear ready for the weekend so you have no excuses. Even a brisk walk or some chair yoga helps. It may not make the MM go away but it just soothes muscles and get your blood flowing.

    You got this! :)

redwing I love your updates and encouragement. Enjoy the weather. Busy is good!

Was up and about early this morning. Walked to the market and back (2.5 miles) and got some good produce. Ran on the treadmill for 2 miles and watched Nadal take home the Roland Garros cup! Great match and great short run for me.

Be active today. No laziness. No excuses. Happy Sunday!

My weekend consisted of a very easy walk on Saturday, about 2 miles, that's all I could fit in. Sunday I spent 4.5 hours inside at my granddaughter's dance recital. Not happy about that. It was a beautiful day too beautiful to be indoors :( But once I got home I put my running shoes on and went for a 4 mile walk. It helped my mood ;). And I decided that giving up 4.5 hours of outdoor time to watch 6 minutes of Lily dancing was worth it after all.....I think.

Today was at the gym at 8:00 did my H.I.I.T. class and returned home to my poor husband who woke up with a swollen knee and could barely walk. Made an appointment for him with orthopedic doc. Apparently he has no cartilage left and his knee is bone on bone. Not sure why it all of a sudden is acting up but doc gave him a cortisone shot, told him to ice and ibuprofen, and rest for 2 weeks to see if he can get it calmed down. There is no fix, most likely a knee replacement down the road if the knee doesn't settle down. My husband is very active, this is going to drive him nuts! Just give me the strength I will need to help him through these next few days.....God knows he has been there for me more than anyone will ever know.

Peace and good energy sent to all!

So sorry to read about your hubby. I bet that hurts a lot. Hope the knee replacement happens soon. I went to the gym early this morning and it was a tough workout with heavy barbell stuff and then some Tabata at the end for the metabolic part. I will be sore tomorrow!

If it's cool in the morning I will go for a run. Want to be outside instead of the treadmill. We've planned a five mile run so it will have to be early morning. I lazed by the pool for a couple of hours. Sun felt so good. Talk to you tomorrow!

I tried windsurfing today and I have never been so tired in my life. Exhausting and it was a complete and utter failure.

This quote always makes me smile:

No matter how slow you go you are still lapping everybody on the couch!

It's 5:15am and I'm about to go on a long run with my friend. It's still dark and quiet outside but the temps are not too bad so we're taking advantage of unexpectedly decent weather for June.

I hope you guys make time to get out and out lap all those on the couch. Have a great day!

It's true. I walked again today and I felt at least I can try to go a little further everyday. I have to push myself to do it but when I'm done I'm glad I did.

Joe, you now have a goal for the summer. Learn to windsurf without becoming exhausted! Go for it.

Spent the weekend hiking (sort of) the neighborhood trails in Rose Canyon, Utah. My mom and sister live there, right up at the base of the hills. Quite a bit more strenuous than my normal (low elevation and absolutely flat) route down here in Houston. 3 hikes, 2 hours or so, 7 miles. Good workout, spectacular scenery, and NO humidity whatsoever.

I dont like running/cardio much, I prefer my energy to go to strength training. However, i have been including cardio at the end of my training session using an elliptical and an interval approach. The first 40 seconds of each minute I go moderately ( 140-150 strides/minute) with some resistance. The last 20 seconds of each minute I go hard ( 200-230 strides/minute) and then repeat.

H.I.I.T at 8:00 a.m. Hope to get a walk in if the weather holds out. Planning a healthy dinner for this evening. Get out and "move it, move it". Peace.

This morning was total cardio for time. 50 reps of:

    Jump Squats

    Kettlebell swings

    Overhead presses

    Push ups

    Mountain climbers for 100

    Lunges

    Jumping jacks

    Spiderman for back

    Wall slides

    Med balls

    Jump rope for 100

    Bicycle crunches for 100

Good thing I took my electrolyte powder with me because we were drenched with sweat at the end. Short but intense. Tomorrow only strength.

Have a great day! Make new goals. Eat well. Take a nap if you can and M.O.V.E.

I get so frustrated I go to bed looking forward to getting things done then I can't get my bum out of the chair to do anything because when I stand up the world moves. I am getting an elliptical for my birthday so I am hoping that, that will help. I was doing well before my trip to VA but after it seems my inner ear doesn't like me :(
