I just recalled this, which we don't mention too often, so I thought it might be helpful.

Many MM and MAV patients are gluten sensitive. Even if you test negative, allergy tests are not always accurate, if you can't seem to get rid of symptoms it might be worth a shot to eliminate gluten/wheat from your diet to see you get any improvement.

    I found this study:

    Gluten sensitivity in Meniere's disease.

    Abstract

    OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS:

Wheat is one of the most common food allergens found in patients with Meniere's disease (MD). Gluten from wheat has been identified to have a etiopathogenetic role in celiac disease, IgE hypersensitivity to wheat disease, and recently to gluten sensitivity. The aim of this study was to verify the incidence of gliadin prick test response in patients affected by MD.

    STUDY DESIGN:

    Prospective individual case-control study.

    METHODS:

There were 58 adult patients with definite MD, 25 healthy volunteers, and 25 patients with grass pollen rhinoconjunctivitis tested with skin prick test to gliadin.

    RESULTS:

A total of 33 MD patients (56.9%) proved to be sensitive to gliadin, eight of whom were positive to prick test after 20 minutes, 13 after 6 hours, 11 after 12 hours, and one after 24 hours.

    CONCLUSIONS:

This is the first report of gliadin skin test response in MD. Further studies are needed to define the relationship between immune response to wheat proteins and MD symptoms.

Hi Vicki thanks for the information. I have just today ordered lauracidin thanks to lulu and yourself and of course reading further about it. I became interested in when yourself and lulu said that it can help overall health and the fight against hsv. Although I don't suffer with vertigo now I do have some digestion problems and arthritis. Hoping that it will be a good move getting lauracidin for all of the above. Will let you know if it helps

Vicki, That's funny , I was thinking of gluten in MM this morning. I think it's a sign for me

jaypr, my Lauracidin arrived this morning and I am planning to give it a go next week. Who knows? Perhaps we will be as lucky as Lulu is?!

hehe could very well be Marta :)
Just a heads up on the Lauracidin, you may have a die off effect that makes you feel worse for a short while, just go real slow with it.

Vicky could be more.specific about going slow? I started Monolauren last Friday. I started with a 1/3 of teaspoon and worked up to a full teaspoon three times a day. I felt much better the very next day, but today was not great.

Having not taken it I can't tell you in detail but when I was researching it and found it on the companies page it gives the suggested amounts of how to titrate up slowly.
    on the fact page
    https://www.lauricidin.com/faq
How much Lauricidin® should I take?

Recommended use instructions are provided with each order or specific recommendations may be made by your health provider.

    “Low and slow”:

For individuals ages 12 and older, start with 1/4th of a teaspoon (1/4th of the blue scoop) two to three times a day with food, and slowly work up to 1 teaspoon (1 full blue scoop) two to three times a day with food.

We recommend not exceeding 12 teaspoons (12 full scoops) per day and always to start low and increase intake slowly.

Children three years and older may start with as low as 1-5 pellets and work up the intake more slowly.

there are more facts you might want to look over.
alos I believe Lulu posted when she first started it she got flu like symptoms, but its been awhile since I made that thread, you might want to look over it and read about her posts when she first started

I also believe there is, or at least was, a phone number to speak with a medical professional for those who purchased it if you have any questions.

I know it is gluten thread but since lauricidin was mentioned here is an interesting link :

    http://justherpes.com/herpesremedies/monolaurin-herpes-lauricidin/

It is mentioned, in the article, that lauricidin fights bacteria, viruses and fungi/ yeast. Candida has been brought up here as another possible reason for MM . I was just wondering if it is possible for just one product to treat so many problems.

Hi Marta my Lauricidin arrived this morning within 24 hours of ordering. How quick was that! Will start taking it later today.

Since I had shingles about 22 years ago I had always thought that my body has been compromised. I reacted well to Llysine but stopped it when my vertigo stopped. Might go back on Llysine. But for now I'm giving both Lauricidin and Turmeric a try, not for menieres as I don't suffer from that now but more for good general health.

Looks like turmeric and lauricidin are both super immune boosters and protectors against serious illnesses. As a result of arthritis and digestive problems I think I am more fatigued than I should be. Let's hope that whoever is taking the Lauracidin i.e. yourself, me, Imback and Lulu amongst others get relief from whatever ails them from this product.

As it suggests in one article I'm taking it slow with the Lauricidin as I don't want to feel unwell by going against the recommendation of easy does it.

The Turmeric I'm going to take it in hot water with a slice of lemon and honey to take away the bitter taste. Will probably delay the Turmeric for a week or two to give the Lauricidin a chance to see how it does in isolation.

    Hope you get some benefit

    Hi Frank
Nice to hear from you. I am going to start Lauricidin in a few days', perhaps a couple of weeks' time only because I want to see if the steroid injection I had recently is helping at all. You are lucky to have reacted well to Lysine. I sometimes wonder if the problem with my MM has anything to do with herpes as I have been on AV and lysine 5x a day since January. That is why my attention was drawn to the fact that Lauricidin fights fungus/ yeast as well. Worth trying, whatever the problem is.
I need to read more about Turmeric as I do not know much about it.
Good luck Frank and let us know how you are doing!!
