Has anyone else had this problem? I just did it twice this week. I did have a tad of vertigo both times but thought I had enough time to make it to safety. Just now I was outside with my dog and turned around too quick and bam, there I went. Of course the neighbor was outside watching. I was so embarrassed. Once I got up I had to baby step all the way to the house. Geesh, I can't even take my dog to the bathroom without something happening. .
Falling happens.. I often use a walking stick, depending on how far I'm going to walk and how I am feeling at the moment. Some days I need it just to walk to the mailbox and back (about a 500' round trip) and others I can do just fine without the stick. When I'm standing somewhere it's always 3-points of contact. 2 feet on the ground and one hand resting on a counter or whatever is solid. Nothing to be embarrassed about..we have a nasty disease. I've gone on my ass a dozen times in front of friends, prospecting partners, etc. I'm 56, and don't bounce so well any more..but ya just pick yourself up and continue on. Learn to fall on your ass, as sticking out hands and arms to stop your fall can lead to broken bones. In my experience asses heal a lot faster..lol
Well glad to know I'n not the only one. My balance even when I'm not having an attack is awful. My doctor said that is NOT because of Menieres but anxiety. I'm confused. Is it or isn't it from Menieres?
I think it's all a part of Menieres. You don't have to be having vertigo spells to be off balance. I'm no expert, this is opinion only, but stress affects my Menieres daily, whether in an attack or not I have tinnitis, off-balance, hearing low, etc. I attribute it to Menieres, not stress. If that makes any sense. Hoping your days get better.
