So I saw this mentioned on a previous post. So of course I was curious and started doing my own research. I found the Dana White UFC article claiming it cured his menieres but not much else. What else do we know about this new treatment?

Hi Loo-Hoo. We have a member gfsound who had the treatment. He flew to Germany for it. He did well for a bit but he is doing poorly now. He tried so many different treatments. He is looking into the EDB now but there is along waiting list.

You can google his name and see his updates on the Germany treatment. But I would say it doesn't seem to be successful with Meniere's. I have a feeling Dana White did not have MM, he might have been misdiagnosed.

I believe someone else on the forums knows someone who had the treatment but done in the states and was not successful. I don't recall who posted that, maybe you can find that on a search as well.

I hope this doesn't mean you are not doing well Loo-Hoo.

I have had pretty recurrent vertigo and 50-60% hearing loss for about 4 years. attacks sometimes 2-3 times a day. but how well you are doing is partly a state of mind I think. I assume this procedure sticks a needle in your ear which gives me the heeby jeebies. But was just a little curious.

If you're looking into alternative care, have you looked into upper cervical chiro or Nucca? Are you sure you don't have TMJD? These routes probably cost less than what Dana white did.

I have been treated for TMJ by one of the top dentists in the country. Didn't help. Did relieve the popping in my jaw some. I have seen a blair and a NUCCA doctor and went 2 times a week for 3 months to NUCCA which also did not help. I am now seeing Dr. Zielinski who is one of the top chiropractors for vestibular. I am not necessarily looking for alternative treatment I just always like to be on top of new research.

The TMJ treatment was $6,000 so it was pretty darn expensive!!

Yes it is, Nucca helped me, and ta 4K over 5 years. I hear the blood treatment that you are asking about runs upwards of 11k. Some one mentioned that his white blood cell count plummeted after the treatment.

Regonokine isn't a cure. It simply takes the inflammation down inside your inner ear that, as the theory goes, is the cause of the Meniere's symptoms. What causes the inflammation? That's a much longer discussion.

I did some research into the treatment almost a year ago. There are clinics that offer it for joint issues, such as a bad knee, but only one place that will treat Meniere's patients. It's a private clinic in NYC and the cost at the time was $18,000. (Yes, 18 large.) It takes six business days as well so add in hotel and the like if you're not a local.

The rub? It's not a cure. It may help for a certain amount of time but in some cases it doesn't help. In some cases people have had to go through the treatment multiple times as it, for lack of other words, "wore off". If I won the lottery and had a few million floating around I'd have gone through it. I'm still waiting on my numbers to hit. ;)
