I can't believe he is dead, Chief and SIL just saw him in concert in Atlanta a few days ago. I had babysitting duty. Rip My favorite song was Raspberry Beret!!!!
me neither Joe, I feel so sad over his passing. They are doing an autopsy next week. I loved several of his songs. When certain celebrities/musicians pass away it has such an impact. R.I.P Prince.. you will be missed.
I love the stones too, Keith and Mick always mesmerize me. It's amazing after all the drugs they did especially Keith they are going strong and still touring in their 70's.
A Piano and a Microphone Concert. Prince's last concert at Fox Theater in Atlanta, Ga. (if i remember correctly it was a Thursday, April 7) I really wanted to go but am a little cautious since my laby with my one good ear and decided to stay home and let the Sisters have a fun night out. If i remember correctly tickets were like 350.00 a piece, not bad for a Theater that only holds like 2k people. In return for skipping out on the Chief for Prince concert i promised i would accompany her to the Adel concert and make a date night of it. my first concert in 6 years. Best concert i ever went to was Michael Jackson with The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen a close second.
I haven't been to a rock concert since the 70's but I saw many of the greats, Jimi Hendrix, Richie Havens, Paul and George from the Beatles, Edgar Winter, J Geils, Jefferson Starship, James taylor and many others. They all played at the college I attended. So every weekend we saw a great concert. I did see a few concerts in the village, the Bitter End in NYC and the Philmore East, I am not sure if you heard of those places Joe, but they were famous back then.
i have heard of the Philmore East. On a lighter note......It funny how this world has a way of telling you that you should not be doing something.......it eventually kills you. For all the young people out there and even some of the older folks..........If you have the Flu, Pneumonia or whatever.....It is probably not a wise thing to take Opiates during this time. You just may find yourself in a Purple Haze or if i could guess a Purple Casket. "you gotta be fucking kidding me" ...... if the rumors are true.
