As to stages Menieres progresses, it seems so different for everyone. I actually lost high decibel hearing first 6 years ago in one ear. The high ranges progressively have dropped to profound loss over these years. Absolutely no dizziness/ vertigo the first 5 1/2 years. One year ago, out of the blue I lost a large amount of low decibel hearing--still no vertigo. Then in March this year, my low decibel hearing dropped to severe/profound level and then the major vertigo/ dizzy attacks started. I also have not ever noticed fluctuations in my hearing. For the most part, I lose hearing and it stays permanent.
