I had my first "real" vertigo attack" on Tuesday. It lasted about six hours from the time I dropped to hug the floor until I was able to sit up and get to the bathroom. I say first real attack as what I usually have are more like short episodes of disequilibrium, not spinning. They only last a few minutes. Today is Thursday and I'm having a hard time staying awake. I think I won't be able to nap as I just got up, but I go in and lie down and I'm out again for hours. Is this usual after a long episode of vertigo?
In my experience, being very fatigued and run down after a major attack is not unusual. It takes quite a bit out of you. I hope you're feeling better soon.
I agree, attacks used to wipe me out!! It always would take a couple of days before the fatigue disappeared. So sorry this happened to you. Hope you feel better soon.
I was told that vertigo is connected to the part of the brain that generates anxiety which wipes you out. In addition, if you took anything for the spinning that might be the culprit. I take Meclizine and that wipes me out. Either way it's normal and I hope you feel.better .
An attack absolutely wipes me out. I typically can get to work and such after...but it is a struggle, like swimming upstream because I am so DONE.
