Do your homework before you give your knee-jerk response. I don't know what kind of fasting that article was talking about, but therapeutic fasting using fresh vegetable and fruit juices has been validated for over 100 years. Professor Arnold Ehret was researching and writing about it in the late 19th century. Sensible fasting with fresh juices has been endorsed by many doctors and nutritionists, including Herbert Shelton, Andrew Weil, Norman Walker, et al. Sensible fasting does indeed benefit the immune system. Dick Gregory beat what his doctors called "terminal cancer" by fasting on veggie juices and green tea. The documentation on this topic is everywhere, so I find it hard to believe that your response is "BS" when this is something that, if done sensibly, could help people with Meniere's. There is no question that malfunctioning immunity is a major factor in Meniere's disease. Just look at the studies! There are tons of them. Here are three: http://archotol.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=613204 http://europepmc.org/abstract/MED/6834965 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1288/00005537-199103000-00001/abstract;jsessionid=6C2D3F3187DBF6B6082D40A644F5EB19.f01t02?deniedAccessCustomisedMessage=&userIsAuthenticated=false And here are two articles about the benefits of fasting. There are scores more if you just look for them. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16131283 http://www.medical-library.net/content/view/96/41/ Bless all, Ron
Thanks Ron good to know ..just wish I could try fasting but with low blood sugar that's just about impossible.
