Been less than a week since I first heard of MM and it is obvious I need to make drastic changes in my diet. I don't know where to start, I feel like hell and the dizzyness makes reading/researching difficult. Has anyone put together any kind of actual diet plan with recipes, etc to serve as a baseline to build on? Charts of foods to avoid and foods that are beneficial? etc. I live alone and really need help with what foods to buy and meal planning, etc.

Davidvank, first extremely important question...are you on an antiviral? If not, run don't walk to your pcp and see if they will prescribe, I have found if i cut back on sugar it helps, but no diet will do for you what JOH, lauricidin or an antiviral will do. You will be spinning your wheels trying to get diet to help.

Eliminate caffeine entirely and see if that helps. But taper off over a week to avoid some nasty withdrawal symptoms.

Still waiting for an appt with the ENT specialist. Just got the referral yesterday so hopefully early next week I will get an appt time/date. Researching monolauren (sp?) but I am so dizzy, reading is torture most of the time. Already quit adding salt to ANYTHING and I quit using processed sugar over a decade ago. I realize foods I buy have salt and sugar in them but I try to avoid processed foods as much as possible. Again, I have done this for many years.

So sorry you are having to deal with this.

For dizziness I love my acupressure wrist bands, sea bands. http://www.sea-band.com They really take the edge off. They are available at a lot of drugstores as well as online.

I am on so many diets. I think where I would start is low salt and keeping the ratio of lysine to arginine high. I like this site: http://www.herpes.com/Nutrition.shtml

Good advice, Blythebay, and Davidvank, pls read the success stories, very good advice in there. Most of our experiences with an ent is that they wont agree to the antiviral, if that is the case, go to your pcp, if they wont do it, find another, in the meantime order all of the JOH supplements you can afford, they helped when i first went thru this 4 yrs ago, and if it wasnt the 4 1/2 years of constant continuous stress of taking care of my sick, dying husband, i don't think it would have came back like it did. I was glad i could take care of him, but i knew my stress level was going thru the roof, but we do what we have to do.
