One thing seems very common among us who have meniere's symptoms and that's sinus issues. I've had it for over a decade and it never goes away fully, even though I've taken antibiotics and stayed the course several times. I always have either yellow or green dried mucous that doesn't go away, it's very mild but very chronic. They say sinuses can be caused by bacteria or for chronic cases, viruses. I think for some of us it may be non-hsv types of viruses that make their way into the ear and then we are screwed. I wonder if using a Neti Pot and such can actually push the viruses further in rather than out if not used properly or if say you choke on it and it spreads. I never had used netipots before I got my symptoms instead I got all my symptoms AFTER having tried it. This doesn't mean immediately after having used it, just after having used one, it may have been a year or two after. So how many of you got your symptoms before ever having tried a neti pot? And how many of you got your symptoms after using a neti pot?
It could be viral related. After taking high doses of Vitamin C for a few weeks, i was able to clear up a chronic nasal issue.
I had MM before I ever used a netipot or sinus wash. I can't tell MM any worse after using it. I cleanse my bottle thoroughly after every use.
Nice Scott, I can't seem to take a lot of vitamin c it gives me stomach upset. I've also used Emergen-C and that always made me feel worse, maybe it's because the ascorbates turn into salt in the stomach. It could definitely be a virus in that case I wonder what type of antiviral would work to test that theory. Verti ok noted. Yes I cleaned mine as well and used water that had been cooled after boiling it to kill off any organisms if any. I did use a very salty solution once or twice though.
