Today is day 28 no spells. I have been on the J of O regimen since April 8th. I continue on with the regimen and will forever. Once I get to 6 weeks with no spells I can start the regaining balance regimen. I still have some balance issues along with some of the loud ear sounds (just a reminder it is still lurking). I am hoping I can still fly to see my family this year. For now, I continue moving forward with the J of O regimen which my family dr is very supportive of. I am now taking acyclovir only once per day 800mg. Was taking 800mg three times a day and did for 6 weeks. If I resume spells I guess I will increase the acyclovir. Treating as being the herpes culprit. Thanks, J of O!

    Thank you for this report.

Be aware that relief with my regimen (and all others) can be inconsistent and incremental, with ups and downs. But eventually, the causative herpes virus is usually suppressed and inner ear tissues can begin to heal.

For those unfamiliar with the regimen, read this closely:

I have been on the AVs and some of JOH for a year. I wonder if my ear is still healing, as I still experience ups and downs. Or....should I be looking towards another plan of attack?

Paul, it sounds like the acyclovir is working for you. Congrats!

Don't be afraid to bump it back up when needed.
