Hi Everyone, I switched to valacyclovir by NorthStar since I had side effects , from the one by Ranbaxy .Now I'm starting to have lower back pain and a pain in my side . Has anyone had this and it went away? I had my blood levels checked in Mat and it was fine. I notice getting a little relief in ear pressure and vertigo but , now this makes me scared it is effecting my kidneys . I don't know what to do. I can't take the name brand because it wasn't approved by my insurance, plus I had a three day supply and it made me have a horrible feeling. I had the endophylmatic surgery years ago and used the Mienett device. That helped some and I had just off balance . Ever since I came off Klonopkin that I was taking for anxiety everything with my balance has gotten horrible. I think it ruined my vestibular system more .
First, have a blood test to check kidney and liver function. Second, Drink lots of water. Third, dizziness and back pain is a common side effect of benzo withdrawal. When did you come off the Klonopin?
I agree that you need to get your blood checked. I would be shocked if you would have such an impact since May that you would be getting back pain from the antivirals. Even if you were one that was predisposed to kidney issues it would seem (to me) that it would take more time to show impact. Also agree that it could be a reaction of not having the other meds. Or the other meds were actually covering up a pain that had been there.
Hey Scott, I had the blood test in May it was fine. I come off Klonopkin 15 months ago but have withdrawal symptoms still because , I was taken off it abruptly . The dizziness and vertigo has been worse since I came off it . The ear pressure happened too since I came off. I didn't have any ear pressure for years since I had the ear surgery for the Mienere's disease, so I'm guessing it's a withdrawal effect. But the back pain started since taken the antivirals . I spoke to a nurse today and she told me that is a side effect of antivirals but, it's not a common side effect.
Hi nicmger, I got my blood checked in May and it was fine. I looked up and lower back pain is a side effect but not a common side effect. I also spoke to a nurse today and she said that too. But, I will speak to my doctor about it. I was really hoping this would help me.
