A ONCE SOMBER SOUL The surrounding air becomes quite putrid By an unwelcome guest with all its fears Meniere’s brings with it a flood of pain Without conscience, remaining for years Entering gently, with a fury soon growing Meniere’s dance will make your head spin Interrupting life’s plans and all its meanings Change determines a new purpose to begin A happiness, once quite taken for granted Meniere’s spell can bring you to your knees Much like the surprise of a roller coaster ride Life takes a dip or turn, no one ever foresees With a determination to grow ever stronger Time to change the diet of sorrow, now fed Again I’m the controller of my own happiness Setting aside all the tears that have been shed Overwhelmed, but not one to be overtaken I believe in my strengths to attain life’s goal Each day a new sun rises upon the horizon Igniting and infusing my once somber soul RoKo
