That would be me right now. And the perforated ear drum is in my bad ear which is making my hearing worse. It's been like this for two weeks with no improvement. The doctor wants to see me in a month to see if it will heal on it's own. If not then she may do a patch or something like that. Now this morning my ear started aching and now it's throbbing. It looked normal minus the busted eardrum earlier this week. Now all day I've been swimmy headed. The tinnitus sucks right now and is worse because of the eardrum. I've tried to keep water out of it. This morning it was so strange. It started throbbing and after an hour or so it felt like something drained and my hearing got worse instantly. I don't know what the heck is going on but I'm ready to rip my ear off.

Ugh. How awful. I've had perforated ear drums twice, both times before MM. The worst was over in a day or two when the ear infection cleared (both times a viral infection, so I didn't take antibiotics). The tinnitus from them lasted a few weeks. I hope yours heals soon and well.

Thanks. It's still hurting this morning but now mainly behind the bottom or the ear, my front right sinuses and into my jaw a little. I'm betting I accidentally got water in there and now it's stuck. Hopefully it will clear on its own. I'm only getting dizzy when I change the position of my head or stand and walk around some so I don't think it's the Meniere's.

I find hot compresses really soothing in those situations--on the face for the sinuses or in front of the ear, in your case you could try behind the ear. It both feels good, and my guess is that it helps move along healing by bringing blood to the area. I run a washcloth under very hot water, fold it some, squeeze it out and put it on the spot, after it starts to cool I can get some more heat by changing the fold and using the part towards the inside.

    Good healing wishes!

Thanks, Bythebay. I'll try it. I wish the eardrum wasn't busted because because then I could use some herbal eardrops
