I am hoping a member of our support group who has been a patient of Dr. Della Santina at Johns Hopkins for many many years decides to get the vestibular prosthesis to restore balance in those who have lost it.

This particular person has had gentamycin injections in both ears to stop vertigo/dizziness from bilateral mm.

I hope he accepts to be part of the trial, as he has been selected/offered to partake.

He will decide today, I hope he accepts.

How have you been bulldog? The way you describe your story and symptoms remind them of me. I hope you are well.

Very cool, I read about the vestibular implants a few years ago, good to hear they are still working on it.

Doing great, except my wife never answers her phone or returns text messages during the day.

I hope it works! I also hope he tried Valtrex thoroughly before taking this surgical route. My ENT tried to convince me of surgery, and i'm so glad that i didn't because now i have both ears and normal hearing.

    Does this surgery affect hearing?

Even if it affects hearing, there is cochlear implants for that, if this works you can basically replace the entire inner ear system which would be rad. The only thing is space, not sure how two would fit or work when it comes to fitting both in, if at all possible.
