    Hey Everyone

My Miniere's is at a all time high right now, decided to finally try and cut out alcohol as I do dent to drink too much and have a bad diet. Being only 28, I really want to try and get on top of this, can anyone recommend any good diet tips or recipes? vitamins, or possible meal plans that work for you guys?

    Thanks always

In was told.to never to drink alcohol as it suppresses the cerebellum which is in charge of balance. On this site you can search the John of Ohio protocol that some have used with success. Diet as you know starts with low salt and caffeine. Others can recommend a diet.

Tryingeliminating caffeine entirely for a period of time. Go at it gradually so you dont have withdrawal headaches.

I never felt any better or worse with alcohol. In fact, one doctor told me to drink more to suppress the vestibular system... lol... doctors ::)

I also feel no different either with alcohol or without. Have stopped for 4 month periods and it made no difference. I will note I have neve has a bad attack while consuming alcohol. I attribute that to the suppression of the vestibular system.

I don't usually drink, maybe a glass of wine every six months or so I don't know about how that would affect me. I did however quit caffeine. I'm a huge coffee drinker. I switched to decaf. Haven't noticed either way if it's helped or not. I also do a low sodium diet.

Try eliminating Gluten/Dairy/Sugar and limit caffeine for a month and see how you feel

No effect from the elimination of alcohol either. I did eliminate dairy and cut way back on gluten. I also increased my water intake and started eating more green vegetables.

That's exactly the same thing my Dr. Told me when I told him I wanted to lose weight. He also said even if I just walked a bit. Which also helps with balance.

Eliminate or cut back on your CATS and see what happens!

    CATS =
    Caffeine
    Alcohol
    Tobacco
    Sodium

    More Veggies!!!!!!!

I couldn't drink alcohol when my menieres / mav was at its worst. Haven't drank for 11 years. Suggest fresh food that is meat veg fruit fish and plenty of water. Stay away from msg caffeine anything fermented and anything high in tyramine. Could try an elimination diet i.e. Start from scratch
