Was hoping to get your experience on antivirals: Brand, Dose, side effects, how long it took to work and most important, did it work

Read some of the topics. There are many on antiviral experiences and dosage information in many threads.

Good luck in your search. You will be surprised at what you can learn about Menieres here.

    Welcome

I didn't even think of that.

That's the way to go. :)

    Hi Samaa

Several of us, including me, have had trouble with getting good generic antivirals. There are tons of reports from this board, and shingles/herpes forums, that some of the generics just don't work. I found this out the hard way when the pharmacy switched generics on me. I currently take name brand Valtrex and have had no problems at all. I would consider myself 100% normal again.

Famvir is the drug that my dr prefers for menieres. I used whatever generic my pharmacy had. The dosage i have to check but you might find it by doing a search on famvir. It is in the saame famiky as acyclovir and valtrex.

Valcyclovir is good. The manufacuturer Mylan isn't. Check to see if you can get Northstar Manufacturer.

Good luck on this part of your journey!

Mylan is the company that makes Epipin and they raised their price from $100 to $600.

I know its in the News and I haven't heard the latest.

Mylan is having many more problems than that. I'm so glad that I learned here to request Northstar as my antiviral manufacturer.

My pharmacist Hasn't heard of Northstar. She said Mylan makes her generic thyroid medicine and its a good drug maker. To each their own. The Mylan seems to be helping me. We shall see.

I think that's some people said.
I didn't even know that you could ask for a specific manufacturer and that the Dr. Has to have it on the script.

I took acyclovir for 3 years and was in total remission. Then I wasn't. Thus the switch.

    My acyclovir was manufacturer.
    My Valcyclovir is Northstar.
