I've had a bad day today so have been on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. ;) But one thing I notice is that my hearing in my bad ear is a bit better in my affected ear, and it's something I notice often after I have bad dizzy spells. I'm just wondering, if Meniere's does cause the build up of pressure in the endolymphatic sac, then maybe the dizzyness isn't the gradual build up of that pressure, but the sudden release of the pressure that has built up. Ok, just a theory of mine but I was just wondering if anyone else finds the same about slight hearing improvement after a bad spell?

By the way, I posted by mistake in the "Database" forum so can someone please delete the other post?

I had similar patterns where the hearing would temporarily get better.

Very interesting. I haven't noticed an improvement after dizziness or vertigo, but I have noticed that after very loud, ringing tinnitus my ear often feels more clear and my hearing improves. I try to trust that now when I get that kind of tinnitus, but I don't very often since getting on anti-virals and JOH.

My neurotologist once asked me if my other symptoms improved once a vertigo attack subsided, to which I replied no. I'm guessing for some people it does though otherwise she wouldn't have asked me.

Yes - I have noticed that just the last few episodes I've had. Kind of strange and certainly welcome - but it doesn't last long doles it?

No, it doesn't last long unfortunately. ;)

But it does give one a bit of hope that it is still possible for your hearing to improve. :)

I absolutely agree and I've been reading with a certain amount of jealousy those who have surgery such as the Shunt and get some hearing back. But then I also read posts that have surgery such as the Shunt and go the other way. :-(
