I saw where someone posted about Costco for Valtrex name brand , I called Costco and they told me $1,800 for 90 pills 1000mg. Thats not good. Anyone have any other suggestions for purchasing the brand name Valtrex med?

Google Valtrex and see if any company will give you a discount card.

Never did it with Valtrex but got a great discount on my daughters Rexulti. They pay like 80%.

I use Costco but I have been successful with the generic from Northstar. My local costco orders that manufacturer in for me.

Thanks, I am trying famciclovir right now but may switch to Valtrex if I can find it at reasonable price. I know I can get generic quite cheap. The discount cards don't help much as far as I have tried so far. Perhaps someone knows of another supplier online or otherwise? Valtrex

I'm sorry in that my post isn't to help with your situation, but here in Spain I can buy Valtrex over the counter in most places for around 49 euros for 42*500mg tablets. That would work out at around 210 Euros for the 90*1000mg you were quoted. I just don't understand how they can keep the cost of medication so expensive in the States. Anyway, I hope you get this sorted as Valtrex really does help me with mine.

Hi Gardengal, after I had that bad tooth pulled last year , I had a bad few days and 1 extremely bad dizzy, then I got much better quickly and stayed that way for 10 months then crashed with a bad chest/sinus cold. But alas , I have the famvir and took it 2 weeks already, not sure if better yet, I will try to be patient.

    Hi Dwayne
I got your message about Valtrex and figured it would be better to answer here, as that way others get to see too. I have been taking Valtrex every day for around a year. I started taking it when my dizzy days were up to every couple of days, and at that time I was willing to try anything and first started with the John of Ohio regime then a few weeks later started on the Valtrex too. Then a few weeks later I got better. Since then I've had patches where I'm relatively dizzy free and times like now where it's like a couple of times a week. When I first started I was taking 1g of Valtrex a day plus the full JOH. Then when I was feeling better I went on to the maintenance dose of JOH and 500mg of Valtrex. Maybe the idea now is to up the dose again but really, I can't say if it really is helping or not, but I'm to worried about going back to how I was before to stop. Really, I think what is needed is a proper study for the effects of Valtrex and I've posted here about that...

I appreciate that answer very much. I suppose you don't get long periods in remission then, where you are dizzy free and hearing better.

Actually Dwayne, yes I do and the summer for instance was pretty good as far as dizzyness goes. Hearing is another matter as I've had worse but now generally hear around the 25db mark in my good ear and 55db in my bad on the scale where 0db-20db is the normal range. That's not great and I have problems in crowds etc, but even manage to play piano in a band so can't be too bad. ;-)
But my point is more that before I started taking the pills I used to have good and bad spells. Then I had a particularly bad spell for a few months and now I'm back to good and bad spells again. If that is thanks to the pills I'm not sure. It may just be the ups and downs of meniere's.

I would personally take the max dose until I felt better. And I wouldn't go below 1 gram per day, ever. That's just me.

    Hi Scott
Ok, I'm going to up the dosage and see how it goes. I've been starting to think more and more about surgery so this has got to be worth trying first.
