Hi all -- For those who take (or have taken) Famvir, I'm curious to hear the dosage. I believe Dr Derebery prescribes it at 500mg/day for the first week and then 250mg/day for three weeks following, but I know others on this board have taken it at higher doses and for longer periods of time. Thanks in advance!
I dont think that is derebery's dosage. (Did i tell you that? ) I dont have a bottle in front of me but i found this in an old message. I think it is: 250 mg tablets (generic) Take two tablets three times a day for seven days. Then one tablet twice a day for the duration.
Hi gooch, I called the House Clinic before starting Famvir and was told by another doctor exactly what June wrote. Having said that I took the higher dose for about two weeks before coming down to the 250/mg twice a day regimen. Good luck!
