I am about to come up on 3 weeks at 3 grams a day using the brand Teva. I have seen zero results. I have called around everywhere and I cannot find a place to get Northstar, which I've read yields the best results. Is anyone having luck with any other brands?

Try to see if your doctor will script the name brand Valtrex as "medically necessary". Mine did and it works a lot better than the two generics i tried.

Are you symptom free with the Cadista? I wonder if my local pharmacy carries that brand.

I actually just found a Costco that, although a bit of a hike, does carry the Northstar brand so I plan to have my practitioner call in a new prescription for me there, specifying Northstar.

I get my Northstar from Costco. They don't always have "that" manufacturer but if I give them a few days notice they have always been willing to order it in for me. My first prescription ever was filled through Target - but that was 2 years ago so perhaps they don't offer Northstar anymore. But if you can get it through Costco you should do it. At the 1x day dose IF my insurance didn't cover it the cost is about $50.

  7. Since Target was bought by CVS, they no longer carry Northstar. I get it from Costco!
