Some people can and some people can't.
I can and I'm usually fine. Doesn't matter what. Rum and Coke is my poison.

I never had any real issues with alcohol. I prefer whiskey.

I drink Vodka Tonics, sometimes with lime. I don't think alcohol is bad for MM

Some people say drinking alcohol today steals happiness from tomorrow. Awe, what do they know. Have a drink and celebrate.

    Happy Birthday

I'm curious as to why you say beer is a no. That's all I ever drink in regards to alcohol and if anything, it sometimes helps with that "off" feeling.

    Enjoy your birthday!

Sugar is not one of my triggers.
I try to limit salt intake to 1200mg. A day. If I overdo it, like with French fries, with salt it only takes an hour if not less that I'll feel symptoms. And it lasts awhile.

Caffeine is a big trigger for me. I really miss my morning coffee.

My ENT told me dark alcohol should be avoided at all costs for people with MM. I don't think her research was exhaustive though. She probably had a few patients who confessed to drinking whiskey or dark rum and concluded it must be bad. I've enjoyed quite a few mai tai's over the years with dark rum and I don't remember becoming more symptomatic as a result.

Never any problems with booze or beer, sometimes for me it makes me feels a little better when I'm a little"off". Don't drink wine so I'm not sure about that.

I gave up everything except a very small amount of beer a long while back but to tell the truth, I don't think I miss it that much. ;)

I have no been diagnosed with that but when my ears and head get bad with dizzy and fog.. Yeah nothing that I can drink with alcohol is good for me.

Oddly enough when I am well I can drink 2 3-finger glasses of scotch before bed.. So I guess one good note from me having the attacks I have had the last 3 months is I have considerably cut down drinking to a beer or two a week. SO my ears hate me. But my liver loves me.
