Hello, I have been recently diagnosed with mav(migraine associated vertoigo) but I have been getting a growing number of concerning symptoms over the last month and a half that are pointing towards meniere's. Needless to say it has caused much depression and anxiety for me along with job trouble and my isolation from friends. I have just been so stressed and full of anxiety. So far I am plagued with constant dizziness, light\noise sensitivity, headaches, fatigue, tinnitus that fluctuates between ears, A mild fullness in my right ear that I can seem to pop sometimes ( I also get most of my tinnitus from that ear). I also have a hard time sleeping as I can start getting vertigo when I'm about to sleep. Docs still think it is a migraine since I had near perfect hearing on the audiology test, normal results on vng test indicating no issue of the inner ear, perfect balance, normal blood tests and a normal MRI. I also just got over a nasty 3 week cold so my ears might be recovering from the after effects of the cold but I'm feeling less then hopeful as the symptoms don't seem to improve. I'm wondering if one could have menieres with normal tests or have menieres symptoms and no meniere's? I really need peace of mind... My life might be ruined I'm just too young to have this...

Sorry that you are here. I don't think that you can have perfect balance with vertigo whether its from mav or menieres. It is possible to have both mav and menieres as I and other people have had. Other people will probably tell you to see a neurotologist for a certain diagnosis. I've never seen one here in the Uk but I believe they are more available elsewhere.

If its predominantly mav that you have there is plenty of information here to combat it including diet and medication help.

Just one other thing. If you do get a diagnosis of menieres it is important to protect your hearing by obtaining antivirals. I wish I had been told that. When I found that out it was too late, my hearing in my left ear had gone completely.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm just going manic here and im getting into all sorts of stressing, I'm even beginning to think that this may even be stress that is triggering migraines. I have a neurologist coming up on mid July and hopefully he could confirm I have a migraine! My primary doctor is baffled as to why my tinnitus is not going away which is very concerning for me... Also in 2 months I plan to go back to the audiologist for more tests to again rule out possible meniere's. In the mean time I am trying lot of eastern medicine techniques and I'm dropping the Topamax the doctor prescribed me because I feel it is driving me crazy...
The Tinnitus is also making me go mad as it always seems to be this high pitch ringing that seems to come and go! After over a month with this It is driving me utterly bonkers!!!!! along with the slightly full feeling ears....

I also got some time off from my manager as I told him I starting to go mad and I need some time away from work. Hopefully that will do some good...
