I started physical therapy a few weeks ago, and it makes me feel 10x worse. My physical therapist tells me that its supposed to for a little while, but it completely ruins my day and triggers vertigo attacks and severe brain fog. I want to keep doing it, but I'm scared to because of how awful it makes me feel. I still have to function, ya know? Has anyone had any luck? From my personal experience physical therapy is a waste of time and money (I've gone 3 times for various back and knee problems and it either made it worse or did nothing) but I've never tried it for my ears before. I might just have bad luck with physical therapists? I don't know. I'm just wondering if anyone has benefited from physical therapy? Has it helped anyone regain some balance, or lighten vertigo attacks? Is it worth doing in the long run?
I've had it in the past but not much. You have to do the exercises at home too.It takes time I was told for compensation .Ive heard some people say it made a big difference in their balance and they almost like before they got sick.
I have thought about it and wanted to do it but I am SCARED it might bring on an attack as you had mentioned. In my head the idea makes sense to do therapy. You need to rehab a knee or a back or strength training for muscles to make them stronger why not for balance? Honestly over the last few years I have been so so cautious to not move my head or turn left or right to fast or get u to fast or anything that I sometimes wonder if I have made my balance worse because I don't work out my balance system enough :-X
It's really hard. Although my physical therapist was saying you can get crystals in your ear, or something and they can teach you how to get rid of them. You can identify them by turning you head to the side really fast. I don't have crystals, unfortunately (because they are apparently super easy to treat) but it sounds like you might. Having a physical therapist teach you how to fix those might be really beneficial for you!
