So finally started my process of trying to go back to Dr's for tests and this and that... Neurotoligist cannot see me without a referral so they recommended an ENT. I scheduled an appointment back in Mid December for today. Driving to appointment the office called and cancelled. Said Dr. would not be in today. They scheduled me for the earliest reschedule... JANUARY 17th!.. UGH... Just takes so much out of you to just be prepared that maybe just maybe all I had to do was wait out 3 weeks from December through suffering through mind piercing ear fullness and tinnitus and just a slight hope that maybe come appointment day.... There will be some insight some something some path forward. At least doing something you know.. But nope..... PUNCH to the gut and YEAH WAIT TWO MORE WEEKS. =(
I am so sorry, that's incredibly frustrating. I know how difficult the waiting can be. Hang in there. I have been waiting 4 months for my appointment and it is finally next week on Wednesday. I know these next few days will go by so slow and I am terrified of my appointment getting cancelled, too, for whatever reason.
I understand the frustration! Try having to wait until February 22! I don't know how I'm going to deal with this wait ! If they call to cancel I'll probably have a mental breakdown. So I'm just keeping my fingers crossed until then!
I have found that the Neuro-ent's are very hard to get in to see unless you have a medical emergency. I had my husband call mine--since I was having vertigo and throwing up, etc. He couldn't see me--so we headed to the E.R. got IV meds and he was notified and I got in to see him sooner. And now, if I call and say hearing loss came on suddenly--he also sees me (this happened recently) because usually Prednisone is required asap. However, I can't take it anymore due to what it caused--extremely high b/p and migraine headache that I hadn't had for 20 years. Trying to wean off of it brought on the headache--the b/p elevation had begun so that was the reason to wean off. Was in the E.R. 3 times due to this. He didn't think it was the meds--but the E.R. staff said it was not uncommon for this medication to cause some people serious side effects including elevated b/p. Just 'fyi'--if you are really bad--go to the E.R. or try getting thru to the doctor how bad you really are.
Done the Er route.. too expensive and if yah ain't dying they just tell you to follow up with your regular dr just getting worried as i am realizing i cant really hear that good out of my right ear now =/
