    Hi,
I am considering getting the Caption phone and it seems to be really something that would help with conversations for me.

I can hear fairly well using the 'speaker' on my phone but some people are just not clear and it's a struggle to talk to them. I can get it 'free' due to the hearing loss I have and my age.

Not even sure age has anything to do with it--it's the level of hearing loss one has. They arrange for someone to come and set it up and explain how it works, etc. You have to have Wi-fi, internet accessibility and internet access in order to use it.

I have all those. Just wondered if anyone here has this phone and if there is anything I need to ask the person installing it that would help, or even before I decide to get one? Thanks.

I've been considering getting one as well, but I think you also need a home phone service, and I haven't been able to afford the extra bill.

Please update if you do end up getting one though! I'm really curious about it. I'm a little worried its going to be like the automatic captions on Youtube videos. Where most of it is nonsense.

Yes, I think you do have to have a home service. We have that. All 'bundled' with TV-computer-phone.
I have seen the caption phones in my Ent's office and the font is good and it moves at a speed one can read easily--so if my new aids don't improve telephone conversation--alot--I will definitely be a candidate for one of these. Hope you can be too.
