:( I am soooo frustrated right now and really 'let down'! I called for a doctor appt. with a female Neurologist--at the suggestion of my primary doctor. In the same hospital system where all my doctors work.

Had seen another Neuro doctor last year--that took all of about 10 mins. with me, gave me pills and said he'd see me in 3 mos.
The pills didn't work--bad side effects, and I felt he didn't really understand what I was dealing with--so just cancelled the appt.

Well--with my symptoms increasing--meaning more neuro type symptoms, including neuropathy in my feet and tremors and this awful head pressure, my primary said it would be 'good' for me to be evaluated by a Neuro doctor.

At this particular hospital, where I had been seen in the E.R. last Sept. with very high b/p due to weaning off Prednisone, the E.R. doctor there, recommended this particular doctor. A female doctor.

So, when my primary told me this 3 weeks ago--I told him I was going to get an appt. with her.

I had my records faxed from the other doctor to her office last week. Got a call today and she said due to them being in the same facility--not the same office, she recommended I go back to him.

This was a secretary calling me. I told her we didn't hit it off the first time--and I really wanted to see her and would she re-consider me at all==the secretary said, 'no'!

So, now do I go out of my hospital network or try another one in this network?

    Trying to decide.

Right now, I'm so very let down. Had such high hopes of some 'insight' into getting things better--the Meniere's I am dealing with--but these other symptoms have really gotten to me and concern me. Just sounding off.

My husband said to call another hospital and find another doctor. I am thinking that over. At my age--you just hate to start up with another whole system! Thanks for listening.

It's a shame that so many doctors are completely useless.

I hope you find one that can help you!

I went and saw an immunologist at the recommendation of my primary who said this doctor was a great doctor and has helped many people...he was the he biggest jerk I ever met in my life. Period, hands down. You have to ignore those who do not want to help and push on, do not give up, do not stop fighting for what you know you need. If your insurance will allow it see as many doctors until you find one to work with you, they're out there.

Thanks Scott and Fisherman: I needed all that advise:) I intend to keep trying until someone says, 'it is what it is' and we've checked everything and you are ok--except for the MM and it evidently has to either run it's course or you just learn to live with it'! Hoping to hear from my primary tomorrow. Thought I would today but haven't, to see who else he might recommend.

I know it's hard to start over but since you're banging your head against a wall I'd see someone else.

I wish you the best and hope you find someone who can help.
Hey I drive 75 miles each way to see my Oto!

I hope you find someone great. This disease is too stressful and complicated to deal with doctors we don't hit it off with. So sorry you got that unhelpful response.

Wow--sure would be a 'bummer' to have to drive that far. I know many people here have to drive many miles to see a doctor.
Fortunately, the farthest I drive is about 18 miles. We live in the suburbs and the major medical center is in the city. But we are surrounded by several other good hospitals connected with another large teaching hospital. So, it's not like I don't have a choice.
I just happen to have gone to the doctor's from this group all my life and feel it's good to have all your records in a central area if possible. On occasion I have gone outside this group--but not on a regular basis. Will consider it though if my primary thinks it's a good idea. Thanks for your words of encouragement. :)
