I was taking the antivirals and John Of Ohio consistently for a few weeks and the tinnitus did fade or settle down a lot. I then became more laxed with it as I didn't know if the anti virals etc were the reason it was getting better. It however came back with a vengeance now. so back to square one. As for now, my otologist is having me see a neurologist as he believes intracranial hypertension and obesity are contributing.
It sounds like the antivirals were helping. They only work if you take them properly. I would get back on the max dosage and hit it again.
billiejoe, are you getting some counseling support? In addition to pursuing all the potential treatments for your condition, which you appear to be doing very diligently, please find someone to talk to directly about what you are going through. I'm very concerned, as I am sure others on this string are, with the state of your being right now. In addition to this site I hope you are getting some direct support. All the Best to you.
Billie Joe. As Scott has said we have been in your shoes where the verigo was in control. We all found our own individual solutions. You are not unique in your suffering. You will find your solution. I cannot add to what Scott has said, his advice is always excellent. Counselling and getting evaluated for other ailments is the way to go. Couselling helped me. I had vertigo in 1999 and in 3 months it went away on its own. I did nothing In 2005 I had frequent vicious vertigo and in six months it went away on its own. In 2014, I had frequent vicious vertigo and it did not go away. I was given MAV meds after two year and they have improved my life. There is hope. Hang in there. You could be right around the corner from a solution or remission. We are here for you.
It was a month of JOH before I began to believe that some of the symptoms were beginning to fade. The dizziness was the 1st to go. I believe the tinnitus is the last to go from what I have read. Spend time researching the different causes of these ugly symptoms. While I was diagnosed with MM, I not so sure what the hell that means. I am currently pursuing issues with my C1/C2 and C5/C6 upper cervical as my research identifies a connection with MM symptoms. I needed to address the neck issues anyway. I had put it off way too long. For me, low sodium helped a bit and JOH has helped much more than a little bit. K
