I have this really bad deep itchy feeling my ear that has the ear pressure?Dies anyone on here have that too.
Ok thank you for responding. I get it still after years of being diagnosed with MD. It's not everyday. I'm trying to see if others have it , then I would have some feedback that other people with Mienere's Disease have it too.
I HAVE IT OFTEN. I DO NOT BELIEVE MENIERES HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT. SOMETIMES AN EAR INFECTION IS THE CULPRIT. :'(
I've been having that. It makes you want to stab an ice pick through your ears. I've used a teeny bit of baby oil on a q-tip and then use the dry side. Or just water. I've been taking Benedryl and it helps. I know I don't have an infection. I don't know what it is.
I used to have a similar itchy sensation in the early days of my MD. Much to my surprise it turned out to be unrelated to Meniere’s. The diagnosis was Chronic (Persistent) Otitis Externa and the solution was and still is to apply a couple of drops of a scalp steroid (Betnovate Scalp Application – betamethasone valerate) to the outer ears once a week. It has worked a treat for a number of years. Hope this helps you.
I actually experience a dull pain in my left ear region as a flare is starting. Not sure if this is related to inflammation of the nerve or what. The dull pain is a consistent experience. It's not severe, but it is definitely there.
I've been dealing with this deep itching for more years than I care to think about. I used the betamethasone for a long time and it worked real well but I became allergic to it after using it for so long. What I have found that works great for me - is rubbing alcohol on a cue tip. I've been using that for about ten years now. Sometimes - I have to use it a couple of times a day - other times - a good swabbing will last for several weeks. It varies. Don't know what causes the itching for sure. One ENT doc told me it was a fungual infection of some kind. Hence the Betamethasone. It got to where when I applied the Betamethasone it would actually bring on a vertigo attack.
Intense itchiness followed by pain has always been my early symptoms before fullness builds up. I have been to ENT several time for this and each time he sees that my ears are clear. But that itch and pain or soreness is so indescribable. Even when I took ACB which helped to a certain extent for brain fog but when I try to pop by ears by blowing my nose pinched is as though there is cotton wool stuffed in the inner ears. My nutrionist GP had me dropping collaidal silver ear drops and it somewhat helped. I used to use cetaphil cream as well and I am seriously starting to think I have a fungal overgrowth in my system which has gone up to my ears just like pianist Joe. I actually have a relapse recently with MD symptoms after the birth of my second child. Prior to that my first attacks were about 8 months long before it went into remission through control of diet, a course of sporanox, nystatin and also ACV as i am also tested positive for HSV 1 and 2 along with Hashimoto's
I had that itching in the past also I think I remember feeling that there was water in my ear(s) and that I couldn't get it out. -having over ingested salt, diet coke, sugar and alcohol yrs ago, coupled with little exercise I believe I didn't have the healthiest lifestyle. sometimes I think that contributes to disease in some people. Good luck to you all and I do believe that when I maintain a positive attitude everything is easier to cope with. I so appreciate the reminders here, not to get discouraged.
I've just begun--last couple of months to have some itching going on. Usually it's wax in the ear (or I thought it was), because I just use my fingernail (never put anything else in my ear and only use the little finger--that has a short, small more point to it--and a small piece of wax will come out--but lately have not had success with that--and it can get annoying for sure. So far not like some have had that I'm reading about here. I don't usually get a bad wax build up--the Ent rarely gets any out--maybe a tiny bit. So, could be 'dry ear'? Just guessing. I will mention it to him when I see him in March. Will let you know if he has any thoughts on it.
I had it this weekend. I've been putting excremental cream outside the ear and behind. I use a tiny bit do baby oil on a q-tip and gently clean inside. That stabbing pain or the feeling you want to keep a finger stuck in your ears? I can relate.
Scott Tom , That's good advice. I get the itching in both ears on occasion and hydrogen peroxide works to relieve it.
