I noticed most folks here seem to suffer with vertigo. Is that the full nystagmus spin or severe dizziness? I mostly have dizziness but occassionally get full blown spin and occassionally fall down vertigo (boy does that ever hurt). Lately the dizziness is almost all the time. I have been getting vestibular rehab but most of the exercises seem to set off the dizziness. I am amazed that doing a balance exercise will set off a dizzy spell. Anyone else get dizzy from visual stimuli?
Yes, I do get dizzy from visual stimuli. Just last night I moved from in front of my TV (sitting in my recliner--to the couch and was looking at the TV over my right shoulder. Well, within a short time I could feel myself getting very dizzy--and I don't get vertigo anymore, but it sure felt like it was 'close'. Made me a bit nauseous. So, I quickly moved back to my recliner and it took a minute or two for my head to get settled down. This happens on occasion when I'm looking forward and for some reason look sideways. Unnerving for sure.
For some reason, looking at someone else's smartphone video really makes me dizzy and nauseous. I also can't look at Venetian blinds without similar problems. Really bright lights or sunshine also gives me a headache, sunglasses are a must.
When I have a Meniere's attack it is the full rotational, vomit inducing, rapid eye movement, 6 to 10 or so hour long vertigo dizziness.
I have only had two full blown vertigo attacks since November 2016, but constantly "dizzy" or "lightheaded." Those vertigo attacks were so scary and lasted about one hour. I went to bed, cut out the lights, and pretended I was a drone flying--it helped (I know pretty crazy). I got them also after steroid injections through the ear drums. Dizziness is more of a problem in the morning and during roaring attacks.
Jimmy that is really bad. It seems that the MM experience can be somewhat different for each person. I am waiting for the inner ear steroid injections. Hopefully it will help better than your experience. Last night I tried using a CPAP for the first time. I didn't wake up with dizziness this morning for the first time in a while but its too soon to say if it helps. The Prednisone is helping but I know I can't use it long term. Anybody have experience with the Gentrimicine injections?
