Anyone here ever get a bad case of hives? I've not changed anything in my general diet. I did up my intake of B vitamins. They say that a high dose of Niacin can give you a "flushed" feeling. I've had that before when taking a pre-workout drink. (I do not recommend them.) This is my second case of hives in two weeks. I'm beginning to believe the viral connection. Thoughts?
You changed one thing. Look at that first. I have a viral connection but not connected to hives that i have noticed.
I had chronic hives for three months. It's hard to deal with. Jump a few years forward and I'm here...with...whatever this is. I'm not sure there is any link.
Regarding hives in general, inhave had chronic hives. What worked fo me was taking 150 mg zantac twice a day every day. This was rxd by my family dr. There is a protocol i think of Zantac combined with a low dose antidepressant but i didnt want to take the antidepressant so i just took the zantac. It worked! I had been suffering for several weeks. I tried a burst of prednisone which worked briefly but they came right back. It too a few days fo the zantac to work but i took it for probqbly 6 months when they seemed to go away.
Edit above, i think zyrtec is often given too but that had adversely affected my hearing in a big way in the past so i declined that too.
Thanks for the replies. My mother gets hives occasionally, so I'm sure it's another case of bad genes and heredity. So far, so good and no other cases.
