Have any of you had luck with nausea or motion sickness wristbands?

I feel sick constantly, and I have to wait another 3 weeks to see my doctor. I'm on valium for my daily vertigo attacks but I hate it, and it makes me more nauseated.

If anyone knows any tips or tricks for dealing with the nausea, I would love to hear them. I drink a lot of ginger tea, and put peppermint in my water (which helps a little) but I'm running out of things to try.

    Thank you!

I used to eat ginger candies. Also, i bought tons of antimo (Dimenhydrinate) when overseas. Works way better for me than meclizine. Doctor can also give you really strong meds for nausea that chemo patients use.

It is not wise to take valium daily. The addictive properties are mind-boggling.

Yes, I have great success with acupressure wrist bands. They really take the edge of the nausea. I try to carry one in my pocket at all times. I use the sea-bands brand. I hope they work for you too!

I had luck with the wristbands. Early on, I also had luck with acupuncture "brads" that were placed on my earlobes and when felt nauseated you were supposed to apply pressure to them. They were put in place by an acupuncturist.

If you can get Zofran--it's the best---for many of us here. Some insurances don't cover it--but I think most do, just depends on the reason for the nausea. And 'vertigo' and the cause being Meniere's should do it. It is used alot for chemo patients too. It desolves under the tongue or on top--don't think it matters. You might check that out--sorry you are having this--it's no fun!

I haven't been able to tell a difference with them.

Zofram did not work well for me. Phenergan seems to help. When I feel an attack coming, if I'm at home where I can get in bed, I take the Phenergan and a Valium and sleep it off. Luckily my vomiting isn't what it was initially.

Nausea is one of my worst symptoms with this disease. I find a lot of relief from the following options-
    -ginger chews
    -rx nausea medication
    -dimenhydrinate (otc)
    -marijuana use (extremely effective!)
    -sea bands
    -essential oils/incorporating aromatherapy
    -massaging acupressure points
    Best of luck!
