So I emailed Dr. Gacek and he replied right away. I asked him about the fact that I had been doing so well since from December to April and now I'm back to square one. He said that it was typical with antivirals since I had been on the highest dose for so long - that I could have developed a resistance to the antiviral that I'm taking (I'm taking the Northstar generic Valtrex). He suggested going on the branded Valtres (which I can't afford) or switching to Famvir and giving that a try. Does anyone take Famvir on this site and do you take the branded or generic? What dose and is it a similar cost to Valtrex generic. I have a dr.'s appt. next week and I'm going to see if they will switch me. Thanks in advance for any advice.
That's interesting! It's so great that he's willing to return emails. If only all doctors were like him.
I know - I really didn't know if he'd reply at all! I know that Mylan is not a good brand for generic Valtrex, and I don't want that to happen with Famvir!
He's responded to all my emails. A very good man. I have not heard any bad things about Famvir. Are you also taking 3000 mg of lysine per day on an empty stomach?
Yes - I'm doing the whole JOH regimen. I've started allergy shots as well, but after feeling SO good for nearly 5 months, I'm almost at two months of feeling terrible. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I have a dr's appt next week so I thought I'd switch to the Famvir after hearing back from Dr. Gacek (if my Dr. will try). My anxiety is off the charts and I'm so depressed!
I know it is a catch 22, but do what you can to still the anxiety. Yoga really helped me turn thinga around and see what path i needed to pursue. Anxiety does a number on the immune system and you want to take as much load off as you can. Make sure you get as much sleep as possible too.
