As an MM person with air pressure issues, I'm going to attempt to see if I can stretch my travel possibilities this summer by traveling to Tucson by train (elevation changes slow on trains). I also have MAV. Both the MAV and the MM are pretty well under control right now. I am having some increased stuffiness lately due to it being an intense allergy year here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I will be in Tucson in the summer when it is very hot. There will be a lot of air conditioning (though we plan to be outside as much as we can). I am hopeful I'll do well because I'll have less allergies, but I wonder if there might be something I'm not thinking of about being in these conditions. I'll also be at about 2500-2700 feet. I'll get there slowly, but I haven't been at an elevation that high in years. Any thoughts/cautions on all this?

One thing to keep in mind is that people with allergies don't always find the Southwest to be the panacea they hoped for. There are a lot of local allergies as well.

But i hope you have a great trip!

Last year, I moved from the CA coast to a much hotter and drier climate. So, I am suggesting the obvious - to drink more water than you'd ever think you needed to. I have to run a humidifier in the summer because the air is so dry (air-conditioning also decreases the humidity inside) that it affects my sinuses adversely. That being said, have a wonderful trip!!
