Are there food triggers for Meniere's like there are for MAV? I have been following the MAV diet and it seems to help my Menieres a bunch. The description of MAV seems exactly the same as Menieres, how does anyone really know the diff?

Anything that causes inflammation around blood vessels or inner ear can cause MM. Since it is about blood circulation issue (coming from cervical misalignment), it can cause dozens of other symptoms, and MAV may be one of them.

Popular food trigger is gluten as you may know already. Here in Japan, someone who was regularly taking ample soybean products had success in removing MM by removing it from diet. We may have others depending on one's own allergic substance.

Regarding influencer which may not be called allergen, low sodium, good potassium, and low/no caffein are known diet. You might also want to keep away from conventional headache medication including Aspirin, Ibuprofen or NSAIDs - virtually all headache medication because it makes the things worse, except for traditional Chinese medicine.

As it is a blood circulation issue does this explain the improvements brought about by Serc/Betahistine? I believe that some of the JOH components perform a similar function ,for example, Vinpocetine is claimed to cause mild dilation of blood vessels.

It might also explain the benefits of aerobic exercise in helping to get blood flowing more freely.

Of course these are palliatives that don’t deal with the underlying cause, although the exercise option has many other welcome and healthy spin offs.

BTW Buchholz has the same warnings about the negative impact of headache medications.

Yes, there are. Foods that are high in arginine and low in lysine are to be avoided. The virus feeds off arginine and is inhibited by lysine.

Yes, a blood circulation issue does explain improvement by Serc/betahistine and aerobic exercises. Many JOH supplements too are about improving blood circulation and vascular health. Thanks for the paper.

dwaynehoover, do you have specific diet that you think helped you a bunch?
