What do you eat? I need some fresh ideas to stay on track and not skip or worse yet eat cookies instead of a meal
I have fresh fruit, cereal, herbal tea in the morning; waffles on weekend. For lunch or dinner: Tofu stir fry with brown rice or pasta (small amount of garllic and/or lots of ginger), curries, broccoli and swiss quiche, soup, sandwich, salads... I eat mostly fresh vegetarian food, some fish, and have to watch the sodium in bread and cheese. Cooked tomatoes, and too many nuts, beans, or yogurt will bother me, and I've cut out caffeine and alcohol for over a year now. I had really bad episode after eating cheddar, so I've avoided it. I rarely eat out and fear if I do it will put me in a tail spin. I used to make pizza from scratch, but it makes me queasy now (the cooked tomato thing maybe or fresh bread). I eat vanilla icecream daily (thankfully without trouble). The main thing that helps me is to eat at regular times and lots of fresh fruit and veg. I miss chocolate at times, but fear vertigo more, so I stay away from it. Molasses ginger cookies satisfy the sweet tooth.
low sodium and no caffeine sadly. For food PB&J (pepperidge farm makes 110mg sodium per slice wheat, that plus low sodium PB), all kinds of fruits, meats, potatoes, zucchini, rice, and about every low sodium sauce that exists. Sadly nothing soy sauce based anymore in my diet. Honestly the only pain has been trying to find something that wont push me over when going out to eat. My diet has worked extremely well until very recently (made it almost 5 months without dizzyness or vertigo). Hopefully what I am going through now is just a rough patch that will slide back into me feeling good again for another long term stretch.
Thanks for the feedback Cricket and reptile. I just make a salad with fish on top, yum. I've avoided soup like the plauge since I think that's what make me sick in January. hope everyone had a good 4th. I know loud noises can disturb people with menier's .
I have found I adjusted to a low sodium diet as my weight went back up to where I started. I avoid sodium for breakfast and lunch as I make/take my lunch. Most days, wife prepares dinner, also low sodium. On the occasion we do go out, I skip the real heavy hitters and quit worrying about it. When I marched the low sodium path, I learned you need to get 500- 1000mg per day. Otherwise, other issues can arise. The main benefit I found to doing low sodium is my ankle knee arthritis pain pretty much went away. Start reading labels and research prepared restaurant meals and you will be able to start taking control of your diet.
Thanks all. I haven't been so lazy lately so I have found other lo so things to eat; even made granola the other day. I'm so thankful to have recovered from the severe headache and vomiting. I recomitted to eliminating caffiene so I stopped taking excedrine for daily headaches.
