    Hi,

I have had 5 vertigo attacks in the last week. Today I had what I call a minor attack, meaning it did not spin super fast. Before the last few months my attacks were without any warning and would only last around 20 seconds, although I was ill and super nauseous for 2 hour after. Now, I get a warning (head movement nausea) before an attack, but they they last up two 2 hours. They are slow moving vertigo, and when I stare a something very close to my face the vertigo stops. When I look up again the vertigo resumes. Now that the vertigo is lasting longer I have noticed that when I stare hard to right without moving my head I do not have vertigo, but when I stare to my hard left the vertigo gets faster. When I stare straight ahead it goes back to slow moving vertigo. After about about an hour it stops. Then around 15 minutes later if I stare hard to my right again things start moving. So, basically the exact opposite happens but only last a few minutes. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Note, I have been on 3grams of Valtrex daily for 5 months, and JOH for over a year. My tinnitus and fullness is on my right ear. I gave had MD for 8 years, but the first 6 years were vertigo free.

I've experienced alot of what you've experienced, but not all.

I gave up trying to understand all the ins 'n outs of this thing and am going to get a VNS.

I have an appt. to try the Bowen Technique next week. I am also thinking I am going to try the P100 (inexpensive version of the meniett device) next, with the tube placed in the ear. It is not expensive so I believe it is wotprth trying as it works for some people.

I have tried over 50 different supplements, JOH, Valtrex, Nucca, Crainoscracal therapy, laser therapy, chiropractor, ultra low sodium (under 750mg daily), glutton free diet, low carb diet and no lasting success.

    tdoak,
Vertigo lasting a few minutes associated with head move is a typical description of BPPV, which comes with Meniere's disease for approximately 30% of the cases. I still get BPPV once a while, and I can always get rid of it in a few days by specific maneuver and exercises.

If you believe you have tried a whole bunch of possibilities, you can also consider adding the following: 1) mandibular repositioning (Gelb, GNM or neuromusclular orthotic), 2) proactive clenching avoidance, 3) jaw/ neck exercises (neuromuscular therapy), 4) dental amalgam / metal filling removal, 5) allergy test and removal (food and external allergen) 6) antibiotic 7) autonomic nerve adjustment (meditation, deep breathing, taking bath, relaxation etc.)

I get vertigo from 3 different issues. After lots of trial, error, research, appointments, and this fabulous place, I've been able to stop them in different ways:

    * Menieres vertigo stopped by anti-virals and JOH routine
    * Migraine Associated Vertigo stopped by eliminating migraine triggers
    * BPPV vertigo stopped with the Epley Maneuver

It is tricky that there can be multiple causes, but the fact that you are having a different kind of vertigo suggests it's a different source. Keep trying and researching. I hope you find the key soon!
